What We'll Explore: A variety of sculptural techniques. Learn to bring your concepts to life in this versatile medium. Learn to create an armature as a base support for your sculpture.
Surface Magic: We'll delve into refining the surface of your sculpture, smoothing transitions, and adding subtle details that make all the difference.

In this 6 session workshop, participants will explore the traditional Japanese technique of carving ceramic vessels from a solid block of clay. Through hands-on instruction, they will learn how to create organic, sculptural forms such as bowls, cups, and tea vessels. Ideal for both beginners and intermediate potters, this workshop emphasizes creative expression and the natural textures that emerge from the carving process.

Silversmithing Basics II (Sunday Mornings, 2 Sessions, 10:30am-2:00pm)
In this 2-session workshop, you’ll advance and sharpen skills learned in the Introduction to Silversmithing workshop utilizing torch and basic soldering techniques. Learn to navigate the jeweler’s saw to create metal shapes and solder onto them with layered embellishments adding sweat soldering to your skill set. This workshop will help build your metal working foundation while creating multi layered original works.

Silversmithing Basics I (Sunday Mornings, 2 Sessions, 10:30am-2:00pm)
In this 2-session introductory jewelry soldering workshop students will learn the basic equipment, safety, tools, and materials for soldering silver and copper metals You’ll explore ways to control the butane torch with confidence and be able to set up a simple soldering station at home regardless of your space limitations. In class, we’ll cover different solder types and temperatures, metal properties and applications for multi operation soldering. This is a fast paced and super fun workshop that will give you the knowledge and skill set to inspire your own unique vision. You’ll leave with a number of ready-to-wear earrings, pendants and a foundational skill set to continue your metalworking journey.
