In this 6 session series - I will share my passion for clay and how to connect with this amazing material thru the wonderful world of hand-building ceramics. No wheels, no fuss – just you, your hands, and the earth itself. What We'll Explore: Pinch Pots 101: We'll start with the basics, mastering the ancient art of pinch pots. It's more than just squeezing clay – it's about feeling the form come alive in your hands. Coil Building: Learn to build strong, beautiful vessels by coiling ropes of clay. We'll explore different coiling techniques and how to achieve smooth, elegant forms. Slab Construction: Roll out slabs of clay and construct boxes, tiles, or even sculptural pieces. We'll delve into techniques for joining slabs and adding texture. This class is more than just techniques. We'll also be exploring... How to Find your Style: This isn't just about following instructions; it's about finding your own creative voice in clay. I'll encourage you to experiment and explore. We'll have a blast sharing ideas, getting messy, and celebrating each other's creations. Who is this for? Absolute Beginners: Never touched clay before? Perfect! Surface Magic: We'll delve into refining the surface of your sculpture, smoothing transitions, and adding subtle details that make all the difference. 

Who is this for? Beginning to Advanced Students: Some prior experience with hand-building is recommended, but not necessary.
